Surprise Party for Grandpa

Saturday was a surprise birthday party for my dad's 55th birthday in Mountain Home, AR. Somehow he figured out that Lila and I were coming about an hour before we arrived, but he didn't realize that Aaron, and Tina and her crew were all coming. Lila, Grandpa must be getting soft in his old age because he had tears in his eyes as we were getting out of the car.

September is a big birthday month in our family, so the surprise party turned into one big birthday celebration. Grandpa's neighborhood has a clubhouse (more like a cabin) on the White River available for parties, etc. We held the party there so the kids could run around and play. We were also hoping to get some family pictures on the deck overlooking the river, but the rain just would not let up in time. We definitely look forward to future family gatherings at the river!

All of the September babies: Uncle Randy, Aunt Shelly, Grandpa & me

Between Aunt Tina and Grandma, momma didn't get much time with Lila!

Lila in her Bumbo seat sitting like a big girl.
I can't get over those long legs!

I saved the best picture for last!
I sure do love that face!

YEA!! New Lila pics. Lila, you are looking more and more like your momma only a little bit darker. She has strawberry blonde hair with those big, beautiful eyes. Nana looks forward to the next time I can see you and snuffle your sweet neck.

I meant she "had" strawberry blonde hair when she was a baby. Nana's fingers stuttered! ;-)
