Today marks the 8 yr anniversary of one of the most tragic days in American history. I still remember exactly where I was when I first heard that terrorists had hijacked the first plane and crashed it into the World Trade Center. I actually did not believe the first person that told me. I was at work at JB Hunt and called my roommate at home to turn on the news and see if the worst could really be true. Unfortunately, it was all too true.
When I thought of all the people that were flying that day my mind went to Aaron. I had just spoken to him in Japan on my birthday and knew that he was going to be flying back to the states on the 10th. I prayed that his flights weren't delayed and he was not on one of the hijacked planes. Fortunately, I was able to get in touch with his mom (now my mother-in-“love”) and learned that he was safe and sound.
In my mind Aaron could have so easily been a victim that day and our lives would have been forever changed. My heart goes out to all of the families and friends of the victims from September 11. I know they were not as lucky as we have been. I pray that they have found the strength they need to live day by day. Please take time today to think about the significance of the lives affected that day. And then go home and give a BIG hug to everyone that you love!

I too remember that day and exactly where I was. That day changed the lives of all Americans forever. Some things will never again be the same.
I was in a panic until I located Aaron. I knew he was flying that day - knew he was going through NYC.
So very thankful he came home to us all safe and sound.
Don't forget to pray for our troops!
