Monday, 5/11, started pretty early for me. I woke up at 3:57 a.m. with a contraction that I knew was very different from any I had experienced before. When the next one came 10 minutes later I woke Aaron up and told him he needed to start preparing for the fact that we might be heading to the hospital soon. I continued having contractions 8-10 min apart for about an 1 1/2 hrs and then they slowed to 30 min apart and then completely went away. I already had my weekly appointment scheduled for 8:30 that day so we both anxiously waited to see the doctor.
At my last check up Dr. Partridge said that if Lila hadn't arrived by Monday, 5/11, we would schedule a time to be induced. Aaron took the day off from work to go to my appointment with me just in case we could get admitted to the hospital right away. I was dilated to 4.5 cm and the doctor said there was no need to wait any longer. The first available day to induce was Tuesday, 5/12, so we made plans to check in to the hospital at 4:30 a.m. the next day.
