My Last Day Pregnant - Part 2

When we got home I immediately got in the bed. I thought if I could just lay still for a while things would calm down until we had to check in at the hospital the next morning. Miss Lila seemed to have different plans! We started timing contractions at 4:30 p.m. and headed to the hospital by 6:30 p.m. when they started to get 5 min apart.

When we checked in to triage I was dilated 5.5 cm. I just kept reminding the nurses that I really needed my epidural and they needed to make sure I got one in time! By 8:00 p.m. I was 7 cm and the anesthesiologist was on his way. I was feeling no pain by 9:30 p.m. and was able to visit with family before the Dr. Bailey said we needed to start pushing.

After pushing for 3 hrs (and with the help of a vacuum extraction), Lila Grace Coble was born 5/12 at 1:21 a.m! She weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 20.5 inches long. I did not find out until later on that the umbilical cord was wrapped around Lila's neck. She had to go to the nursery to be put on oxygen for about an hour, but was soon brought back to meet the rest of the family. Aaron and I are so thankful for our sweet baby girl. We cannot wait to see what an amazing person she will become!

Seeing the pics and reading about it makes it seem like it just happened all over again. Just look at all that family surrounding you, Aaron and Lila with love!
