We had originally planned to rent a beach house at Gulf Shores with the Borens this year. The plan was to just kick back and relax while the kiddos played on the beach. Due to the unfortunate oil spill in the Gulf, we canceled the trip and headed in the complete opposite direction!
We spent 8 days/7 nights in fabulous San Diego (La Jolla to be more precise)! It was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect, the condo was perfect, and the company was well...almost perfect! Ha! James, Dee, Aaron & I all agreed that next family trip we are bringing either a "Nana" or nanny! It was so much fun to see everything through our kiddos' eyes, but there was very little down time for the adults!
The trip was definitely full of new experiences! For me, it was my first time in CA. For Aaron it was his first time to visit a Sea World. Lila's list of firsts is a bit longer:
- flying
- the beach
- Sea World (loved it!)
- amusement park rides (hated it!)
All things considered, it was a wonderful time. I'm so thankful for the memories we made together. Thanks to James for being our chauffeur, to Aaron for being the head chef, and to Dee for helping me to keep my sanity! We love you guys and look forward to the next time!
