I took off work Friday so that Aaron and I could go to Missouri to run some errands. We started our day with breakfast at Aunt Martha's Pancake House in Springfield. (This was one of our favorite breakfast spots when we lived there. It is a little old red house that has been serving pancakes for 49 years. I recommend it if you are ever in the area.) As we were ready to leave the restaurant our waitress came over to tell us that our bill had been taken care of. We were of course in shock because we hadn't told any old friends or co-workers that we would be in town, and we hadn't seen anyone in the restaurant that we recognized. We asked the waitress who we could thank and she said she was not allowed to tell. Something like this has never happened to Aaron and I, but we are extremely grateful to the person who was so kind to a couple of strangers.
Once we were done with errands in Springfield, it was off to Joplin to pick up our baby furniture at Babies R Us. Let me just stop and say how thankful I am to have such a strong husband! It is not surprising that there are not too many men (let alone big strong men) who work at a baby store. I think I was bigger than one of the two guys that brought the furniture out to the truck for us! It took them a few tries to get the boxes in the right configuration so that they would all fit in the back of the truck, but thanks to Aaron's help it all finally fit! By 9:00 p.m. Friday night we had all of the office furniture moved out of the room and were ready to begin prepping for paint!
Saturday my dad came over to help Aaron paint the nursery. (I remembered to take some pictures of the room as the office so I can share some before/after pictures once the nursery is finished.) It was really hard for me to stay out of the room and not try to help paint because I enjoy painting, but I could not be around all those fumes. They got the ceiling and walls finished (took a few coats to cover up the diamonds!) Next Saturday they will finish all of the molding and doors. Then we will be ready to move the furniture in!
