24 Week Visit

Today was my 24 week check up. It was also the first doctor's appointment that Aaron has not been able to join me. (He is getting in some last minute hunting trips before becoming a full time daddy!) Lila's heartbeat was about 145 bpm. Still very healthy! And my belly continues to grow! (My week 23 reading said that between weeks 23-26 the baby will double in size!) Yikes!

I didn't mind that Aaron couldn't be there since this was the visit when I had to do the glucose test. I just passed the time reading Parenting magazines. There was a young mother that sat across from me with her father and her daughter (probably 10 months old). The mother was very cheerful before getting called back to see the doctor, but when she came back out to the waiting room she was crying. Her father just kept hugging her and saying he was sorry. I have no idea what news she received, but I thought to myself how thankful I am everyday that my pregnancy has been so healthy this far. I am also thankful for all of the wonderfully healthy babies that have been born to my family and friends.

Audrey, I am really happy that you and the baby are doing well. I am sure that your entire family is estatic for you as all of us here were for DeAnna & James, when we found out they were expecting Brenner. It's really hard not living close so that I can see Brenner every day as I could the other grandchildren, but having the Boren family blog to look at really helps. Now, I will be able to keep up with Lila, too. Love her name. I also check Roni's blog so that I can watch Tyler & Hunter grow. Lila is a lucky little girl to be coming into this big world to parents like you and Aaron. Vicki Gibson

You forgot to mention your dr. appt when we talked on the phone earlier this evening. I second DeAnna's prediction. Lila is already perfect! And I can't wait to snuffle her sweet neck. :-D

I am so glad that your appointment went well. Only about 15 more weeks and we get to meet little miss Lila.

When I first read your post I had to walk away and cry before I could leave a response. We have all been so blessed with such healthy babies, and I thank God for that everyday. Keep us posted on Lila. I love reading your blog. Much Love, Laura
